大家好!
Friday (8/14) I embarked on my journey. I gave a goodbye hug to my 妹妹 (younger sister) Erin. It’s bittersweet because while my Chinese trip might be a 2 year study, it is a permanent departure because when I return to the west, it will likely be to live in Canada with my amazing husband.
While me and Erin fight as all siblings do, we are close and I think it will suck to not be close. I suppose it’s something we all take for granted. My family as a whole is close, both sides, so I think it will take some getting used to to be SO far away.
I’m going to also miss my baby Nixels… the other dogs I’ll miss too, but there is a special soft spot in my heart for Nixi. I fucking love that dog. She’s pure love.
I will also miss Wawa.
The ride itself was uneventful (this is a good thing!). I slept most of the way.
The border patrol was typically douchey and gave me a hard time, but he was probably like that with everyone since our line moved extra slow.
The weekend in Niagara was pleasant, if ungodly hot. Like.. hot as if Satan himself wanted to say hello.
We did the Hornblower ride, formerly “Maid of the Mist”. Which I recommend to anyone as it’s really nice to get so close to the falls.. especially with Satan weather.. the mist was a refreshing reprieve.
Anyway.. not going into too much detail other than it was a nice weekend and I enjoyed spending some time with family before departure. There are many people I couldn’t see before leaving and I know it wasn’t intentional.. the last week or so was intense but I will be back to visit, never fear!
I’m at George’s parents’ house now and that’s more of the normal day-to-day stuff of planning project Chinafall and enjoying my new Asus Zenfone 2.. which is awesome btw. Photos should be pretty nice from that!
Update will come again Wednesday when I go rock climbing with Crystina and Hana!
