So this week the scholarship students and students who were from partner universities went on a trip to Shenyang and Liaoyang.
We visited some cool stuff including Shenyang’s smaller version of the Forbidden City (沈阳故宫). And houses of famous people. I wish I could be more specific but unfortunately my Chinese isn’t at that level yet.
Liaoyang was more interesting, honestly. Much of the time was spent at the museum where Liaoyang’s history is discussed from ancient times until today. It was the Capital in China’s Northeast for much of Chinese history, only switching after a northern nomadic tribe ( I think Mongolian) successfully invaded and set up their own capital in Shenyang, the current capital of Liaoning province.
I thought the museum was awesome and could’ve spent more time there… and English translations made it much more meaningful.
